Community voice matters, and as an open-source wallet built for the community, Yoroi has unveiled several new Cardano governance Yoroi Wallet UI updates in its latest desktop version 5.9 in response to community feedback.

Through this new update, Yoroi has now made governance more informed and straightforward than ever before.

Here’s what you can expect:

Navigate Dedicated Cardano Governance Page

Now that DReps are live and can vote on proposals, governance actions are on-chain, and treasury withdrawals are possible, Cardano has fully entered its decentralized governance era.

In these early days of figuring out what needs to be done and improved to make community governance as efficient as possible, Yoroi aims to educate, simplify, and enhance the transparency behind the governance participation process for all Cardano users.

With this in mind, Yoroi has launched a new governance-focused banner — a simple way to raise awareness and get more users engaged in Cardano’s on-chain governance.

Users can click it and go straight to a dedicated governance registration page.

The Governance registration page introduces users to the concept of Cardano governance and emphasizes the importance of delegating their vote to help shape the protocol’s future.

It reassures that governance participation is flexible, as users can update their choices at any time.

The governance UI is also available in the Japanese language.

Make Informed DRep Choices and Access Yoroi’s Voting Record

Your ADA, your vote, your choice.

While Yoroi users have always been free to choose their own DRep to delegate their voting power to, Yoroi has now even taken it a step further with clearer details about Yoroi’s own DRep profile to promote greater transparency and delegation selection for users.

Users can also choose alternative governance statuses:

  • Delegate to Another DRep (any third-party DRep)
  • Abstain (no participation in votes) and,
  • No Confidence (signal distrust in the current governance model)

The interface is about promoting informed delegation. We’ve made it clear that Yoroi’s DRep focuses on the commercial and technical growth of Cardano, supported by EMURGO Group.

Yoroi’s voting history is now viewable, too, adding accountability.

Whether choosing to delegate to Yoroi’s DRep to fuel commercial and DeFi expansion in Cardano or to another DRep of your preference, the choice ultimately lies with the user.

There’s also a Learn More About Governance link at the bottom of the page that acts as a starting point for Cardano governance education to answer common questions like:

✅ “What’s Cardano Governance?”

✅ “Who are DReps on Cardano?”

and more.

Whether it’s switching DReps or updating your stance, Yoroi makes the process seamless and informed.

Now, Yoroi has made it even easier to freely switch your voting stake among registered DReps at any time, or select an alternative governance position.
